Italiana di origine e residente a Dubai dal 2019, ha trasformato la sua passione per l’arte in una professione, portando avanti un percorso creativo che affonda le radici nelle emozioni, nei ricordi e nelle storie che accompagnano la vita quotidiana. Dopo una formazione da geometra, la scrittura, l’illustrazione e la pittura hanno progressivamente conquistato uno spazio sempre più importante nella sua esistenza, fino alla decisione di dedicarsi completamente all’arte.
Per Stefania ogni opera nasce da un’emozione autentica infatti commenta: “L’emozione è il punto di partenza di ogni mio lavoro. Prima ancora della tecnica arriva una sensazione, un’immagine, un ricordo o qualcosa che ha attirato la mia attenzione e che sento il bisogno di raccontare. Credo che un’opera possa arrivare davvero agli altri solo quando nasce da qualcosa di autentico”
Nei suoi dipinti non c’è soltanto la ricerca estetica, ma il desiderio di creare un dialogo con chi osserva. La narrazione occupa infatti un ruolo centrale nella sua produzione artistica. Ogni quadro rappresenta un frammento di vissuto, un pensiero o uno stato d’animo che prende forma attraverso colori e immagini. Lo spettatore viene invitato a entrare nell’opera, a interpretarla secondo la propria sensibilità, costruendo un racconto personale che si intreccia con quello dell’artista. È un incontro tra mondi interiori, dove la pittura diventa linguaggio universale.
Il trasferimento negli Emirati Arabi Uniti ha rappresentato una tappa importante del suo percorso. Dubai, oggi riconosciuta come uno dei più dinamici centri culturali internazionali, le ha offerto un ambiente aperto al confronto e alla sperimentazione. In questa città in continua evoluzione, culture differenti convivono e dialogano, creando nuove opportunità per gli artisti e favorendo la nascita di linguaggi sempre più contaminati e innovativi.
Osservando il pubblico che incontra nelle sue esposizioni, Stefania nota come italiani e mediorientali si avvicinino all’arte con sfumature diverse ma con uguale interesse. Se il pubblico italiano tende spesso a leggere l’opera attraverso la storia dell’arte e gli aspetti tecnici, quello mediorientale appare particolarmente attratto dalla dimensione emotiva e interpretativa. Un aspetto che l’ha colpita profondamente è inoltre il grande coinvolgimento dei giovani. In diverse occasioni ha partecipato come giudice e mentor a concorsi artistici scolastici, rimanendo impressionata dalla passione, dalla disciplina e dall’impegno dimostrati dagli studenti.
Dietro l’artista c’è però anche una donna che conserva intatta la curiosità della bambina che amava osservare, creare e immaginare e alla domanda Chi è Stefania Pomillo e cosa sognava da bambina? risponde:”Stefania è una persona che ha sempre avuto la voglia di creare, imparare, osservare e raccontare attraverso le immagini. La creatività è sempre stata una parte importante di me, anche quando ancora non sapevo dove mi avrebbe portata.
Moglie e madre, Stefania considera queste esperienze una fonte preziosa di crescita personale e artistica. Le emozioni vissute nella dimensione familiare hanno arricchito il suo sguardo sul mondo, offrendole nuove storie da raccontare e nuove prospettive da esplorare attraverso l’arte.

There are artists who paint what they see, and there are artists who paint what they feel. Stefania Pomillo undoubtedly belongs to the latter category. Italian by birth and based in Dubai since 2019, she has transformed her passion for art into a profession, pursuing a creative journey deeply rooted in emotions, memories, and the stories that shape everyday life.
After training as a surveyor, writing, illustration, and painting gradually assumed an increasingly important role in her life, eventually leading her to devote herself entirely to the world of art.
For Stefania, every artwork begins with an authentic emotion. As she explains: “Emotion is the starting point of every piece I create. Even before technique comes a feeling, an image, a memory, or something that has caught my attention and that I feel compelled to tell. I believe that a work of art can truly reach others only when it originates from something genuine.”
Her paintings are not merely an exercise in aesthetics; they are an invitation to dialogue. Storytelling plays a central role in her artistic production. Each canvas embodies a fragment of lived experience, a thought, or a state of mind that takes shape through colors and images. Reflecting on the audiences she encounters through her exhibitions, Stefania observes that Italians and Middle Eastern viewers approach art with different perspectives, yet with the same genuine interest. While Italian audiences often engage with an artwork through the lens of art history and technique, Middle Eastern audiences tend to be particularly drawn to its emotional and interpretative dimensions.
One aspect that has deeply impressed her is the remarkable involvement of young people in the arts. On several occasions, she has served as a judge and mentor in school art competitions, where she was struck by the passion, dedication, and commitment demonstrated by the students.
Yet behind the artist stands a woman who has never lost the curiosity of the child she once was—a little girl who loved to observe, create, and imagine. Asked who Stefania Pomillo is and what she dreamed of as a child, she replies: “Stefania is someone who has always felt the desire to create, learn, observe, and tell stories through images. Creativity has always been an essential part of who I am, even before I knew where it would lead me.”
As a wife and mother, Stefania regards these roles as invaluable sources of both personal and artistic growth. The emotions experienced within family life have enriched her understanding of the world, offering new stories to tell and fresh perspectives to explore through her art.
That little girl who dreamed in front of a blank sheet of paper has never disappeared. She continues to live on in Stefania’s work, in her ongoing search for beauty, and in her belief that art still possesses the power to create authentic connections between people, transcending geographical and cultural boundaries.
