Hannah-Joy

Making her solo debut at the Sydney Opera House, ARIA and J Award–winning Middle Kids songwriter and vocalist Hannah Joy steps into the Playhouse for an intimate evening featuring reimagined fan favourites from the beloved indie-rock trio, alongside some new, unreleased music.

Led by singer, songwriter, guitarist and pianist Joy, Sydney’s own Middle Kids burst onto the scene with their 2017 single “Edge of Town”, a smash that propelled them to global attention and scored a shout-out from none other than Elton John. The band won Triple J’s coveted Album of the Year for their top 10 debut album Lost Friends (2018), while their follow-up, Today We’re The Greatest (2021) – with its unforgettable ear-worm “Stacking Chairs” – took home the prestigious ARIA Award for Best Rock Album. In 2024, the group returned with the widely acclaimed Faith Crisis Part 1., an album of exuberant indie rock produced by Jonathan Gilmore (The 1975, Beabadoobee) and the band’s multi-instrumentalist, Tim Fitz.

One of Australian music’s most adored indie rock voices, Joy returns to the Sydney Opera House for the first time since Middle Kids played Vivid LIVE in 2018. One night only. Don’t miss it.
